Eliza Dushku Lands a Comedy

The last time Eliza Dushku graced our small screens was the final episode of Dollhouse which aired January 29, 2010.  Since then she’s kept busy with small movies, lending her voice to a video game as well as an animated feature, Noah’s Ark: The New Beginning alongside Michael Keaton, Jason Lee, Rob Schneider, Ben Kingsley, Marcia Gay Harden and Elliott Gould, to name a few.

Now Dushku, who made a name for herself in such genre favorites as Dollhouse, Tru Calling, and of course, as Faith in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has been cast in a new CBS conedy pilot created by Damon Wayans.

“It is with insanest excitement & awesomeness I get to finally fill you guys in,” says Dushku. “I’ve JUST landed a new CBS comedy pilot w/ my comic idol Mr. Damon Wayans! Stay tuned, there is a serious happy dance occurring at the moment ;) xx!”

Being cast in a pilot does not mean the venture will get a pick up by the network.  But nobody does comedy like Damon Wayans!  The series is a sports radio comedy based on ESPN’s Colin Cowheard.   Hopefully Ms. Dushku will be back on our small screen very soon.

Check back with us in May when we’ll let you know which Whedonverse alum will appear in shows during the 2011-2012 television season.
