On April 24, 2001, Whedon viewers were presented with a rare treat; a barely known young actor took up a guitar and sang on an episode of The WB’s hit show, Angel. That actor was Christian Kane, who had portrayed conflicted Wolfram & Hart attorney Lindsey McDonald since the series premiered on October 5, 1999. “LA Song” charmed Whedon fans and sent Kane into a whole new Whedonverse orbit.
After growing up in Norman Oklahoma, Texan-born Christian Kane moved to California with the intent of getting into the entertainment business. Early on he was cast in the television series, FAME L.A., originally as a comedian. Once the producers heard him sing, they quickly rewrote the role as that of a singer and Kane first sang on the small screen. Around that time he met Steve Carlson, they formed the band, KANE and have been playing to packed houses ever since.
Now, Christian lends his vocal abilities to the small screen once again on TNT’s popular series Leverage in “The Studio Job.” In the episode, the team goes after a corrupt country & western record executive, and have to turn Eliot into a star. A concept that isn’t much of a stretch for Kane, who has released multiple albums and has fans all around the world. Can’t wait for Sunday!
