Joss pens Web musical Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog

Yup, you read that right; Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, the newest brainstorm by Dollhouse frontrunner and scribe Joss Whedon.  According  to Robin Brownfield at SyFyPortal, the “rumors started yesterday with an interview on Ain’t It Cool News where Neil Patrick Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”) stated ‘I’m doing a web short film that Joss Whedon is directing and wrote called Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog.'”   Joss describes the musical as “the story of a low-rent super-villain, the hero who keeps beating him up, and the cute girl from the laundromat he’s too shy to talk to.”

As you can imagine, fans were stunned and didn’t know whether the announcement was a joke or not.  Well, let me assure you … not!   According to Whedonesque.com, Joss said, “During the strike I started writing a musical intended as a limited internet series, three episodes of approximately 10 minutes each.”  The series was created by Joss along with his brothers and began shooting today!

Doctor Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog stars Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible, Nathan Fillion as Captain Hammer, Felicia Day (Vi, a Slayer-in-Training in S7 of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) as Penny, “And a cast of Dozens!” Whedon concluded.

“So stay tuned for more information as we get it!
