James Marsters up for a British Buzz

James Marsters has been showing up everywhere lately. Now it seems, he’s going to the moon. Fresh off appearances on BBC’s Torchwood (as an alien time traveler) and The CW’s Smallville (as an alien robot), Marsters is in final negotiations with Britain’s ITV to play astronaut Buzz Aldrin. (Do we sense a theme here?)

The 90-minute telefilm, Moonshot, follows Apollo 11 astronauts Aldrin, Michael Collins and Neil Armstrong in the days leading up to the launch. The production begins filming June 3 in Lithuania, with a scheduled broadcast in July 2009, honoring the mission’s 40th anniversary.
