It’s good to be King! At least it is for Anthony Stewart Head, who has enjoyed his reign as King Uther Pendragon on BBC’s coming of age fantasy Merlin. The show’s third series completed its run on cable’s SyFy channel December 4, 2010, just after its fourth season renewal was announced.
During a break in his Merlin schedule, Head was part of another BBC series, Free Agents, a dark romantic sitcom following a couple who meet in the work place, are attracted to one another, but who are both recovering from messy relationships. Stewart Head starred as their sex-obsessed, cocky boss named Stephen. The series contained six episodes which ran sporadically from February 2009 through March 2009.
Now Head is set to make an appearance in the US adaption of the British comedy. At this time he is set to guest in the pilot episode, with an option to remain should the show get a season pickup.
Cast members include Hank Azaria, Kathryn Hahn and Mo Mandel.
