Firefly fans camp out for Comic-Con panel, get surprise visit

Die-hard Browncoats started lining up the day before for the Firefly Tenth Anniversary panel at San Diego Comic-Con. One determined fan became the first person to queue up in front of the massive convention center at 11AM on Thursday– although the next group was hours later. By 1AM, the bodies stretched from Hall E, to the  far end, and around the corner. People were stretched out on sleeping bags, blankets and makeshift mats.

To the excitement of the sleepy crowd, shortly after 1:30, the tweets went out: “Joss is here!” Firefly creator Joss Whedon had stopped by to visit and take pictures with fans– having just come from Felicia Day’s Geek & Sundry party.
